Super pocket bikes or pocket rockets are actually small-sized versions of normal motorcycles. In any pocket rocket bike, installed therein is a four-stroke motor meant to power the chain attached at the back of the wheel.
Most lawnmowers use the same four-stroke motors, however the motors used by lawnmowers are typically of a vertical shaft, which is why it is impossible to use lawnmower motors for super pocket bikes. The motors for super mini bikes normally have horizontal shafts. Nonetheless, some power bikes contain two stroke motors instead of the usual four-stroke ones, and there are also models which run on electricity.
It was only very recently that these super pocket bikes became popular in the United States. The trend started way back in Japan and in Europe. The introduction of these pocket bikes in the United States carried a hefty price tag of $4,000. Nowadays however you can easily get a quality mini pocket bike for a cheap price of $200.
Compared to most mini pocket bikes, super pocket bikes are bigger and heavier, although the differences can be considered as minimal. With the introduction of pocket bikes, these sleek and fast vehicles are able to negotiate through narrow lanes and dirt race tracks. In the past, most of these super pocket bikes were made from spare parts. Super pocket bikes are no doubt considered to be the next generation pocket rocket bikes.
The resemblance of Super Pocket rockets with most normal-sized motor bikes is close, especially since they are bigger in size than most pocket bikes. Most of these super pocket bikes also contain the same physical features of many regular-sized motorcycles. These include the complete suspension system, headlights, taillights, hydraulic brakes, electric starters, and cushioned seats.
The speed of these super pocket rockets are also considerably better since the engines are larger and often employ 4-speeds transmissions.
Many of the110cc and 125cc pocket bikes employ either a 2-stroke engine or a 4-stroke engine. Super Pocket Rockets however are known to have 4-stroke engines.
With the small size and fast speeds of pocket bikes, they are manufactured for the primary purpose of racing. The races often take place in pit lanes, go cart tracks, or even in dirt race tracks. These races are often referred to as Mini GP races, making it a legal venue for racing super pocket rockets. However, these super pocket bikes still need to be created with road safety rules in mind.
Most super pocket bikes today are not considered to be road safe, which is why it is often illegal to use them in public roads in various countries all over the globe. These countries include the UK, Canada, and the United States.
The use of safety equipments is extremely important when you are riding these mini bikes. Most mini bikes can be as fast as 40 MPH while many super pocket bikes can attain speeds of 64MPH. Knee caps, elbow pads, and helmets are very important for safety.
