Pocket Quads

An Introduction To Kids Quad Bikes

Pocket quad bikes are like four wheelers, but they are built much smaller than regular four wheelers. You might recognize the term pocket from pocket motorcycles, and it the same concept, only in pocket quad bikes, you get four wheels instead of two. The result? Well, they have a much wider use, including being better for kids because they are a bit safer. So, as a result, kids quads are more popular than ever, and here is why.

Pocket quads, or kids quads, are much smaller versions of the real thing. And since they are smaller, they offer several advantages over the actual full sized four wheelers that adults use.

Advantages Of Pocket Quads

Pocket Quads have less power due to the smaller motor. Now, this might seem at first like a disadvantage, but there is a twofold positive to this that you should be aware of. First, the smaller engine will burn less gas. And secondly, these smaller engines have less power, and are therefore a lot less dangerous. As a general rule, the more power something has, the more dangerous it is to use. That is why pocket quad bikes are so popular for young people, because they are a lot less likely to hurt someone due to their small size. (keep in mind, of course, that accidents can occur on ANY motorized vehicle, so proper safety gear must be worn, and proper procedures followed at all times to ensure the safety of the rider!).

Pocket Quad Bikes Aren't Street Legal

Another thing that makes pocket quads, or kids quads, different from regular four wheelers are the rules for roadway usage. There is virtually no way to legally drive a pocket quad on a road of any kind, while some areas allow you to drive full sized four wheelers on the road if the proper measures are taken. There are a number of reasons for why a pocket quad cannot be driven on the road, but mostly it is because it is just too small. They best place for these vehicles is on a designated track, or in the back yard of your home. A lot of people have a lot of fun on their pocket quads right in the back yard, and you can as well! In addition, there are also clubs you can join, and you can even get into racing them.

Cheap Kids Quad Bikes

Lastly, they are much cheaper. A new pocket quad is exponentially cheaper than a full sized one, and that always helps, right? And this is probably the biggest difference between a pocket quad bike and a full sized quad. You can actually afford a pocket quad no matter what if you budget a little for it, while a new quad is actually a good chunk of money! A lot of kids have a lot of fun riding pocket quads all over, so look into getting a kids quad for your kid today! With the proper safety gear and precautions, pocket quads can be a fun and exhilarating way to spend your time!
